KAIJU All-Terrain Dual-Motor Electric Scooter (48V)

Down on the farm, shifting equipment used to be a 2 man job. Now I load my new KAIJU on board the equipment and after a day's tractor work, onto the KAIJU and going home is a great ride, sand, rough paddock, hills no problem for the all terrain dual motors. Who doesn't like a bit of fun after work

We have owned everything thing from Voltrium to Ninebot. The kaiju is superior in all facets from construction, reliability and customer service from the boys at Simple Commute. We wish we found the Simple Commute boys sooner, it would have saved us thousands.

The monster arrived earlier this week in way shorter time is had expected. A few minutes and the beast was fully assembled and ready for action!

But, work commitments meant no test ride for a couple days.

Test day arrived. I have 4 conventional bikes, 4 ebikes and I have to admit that the only scooter I had previously ridden did not fill me with joy, but now, with better technology and an impressive box ticking list, the Kaiju definitely looked like the design I needed.

I set out a plan to do a slow, careful gradual practice run. I didnt want to kill myself. Thats not a understatement after fractures from MTB miscalculations and a heart attack near death experience. I might tell you i am 62 this year.

But...........

This thing is seriously fn good!! From the second I jumped onto the deck to take off, it was a natural connection. The whole concept of scooters is different to bikes. But in minutes, the plan instantly changed from "take it slow and steady" to "Lets get this thing buzzing"

This thing is seriously an impressive piece of gear. Unlike the flat urban landscapes of big city Melbourne, Sydney or Brizvegas, Tasmania is bloody lumpy!

First test done and dusted. Pavers, concrete, bitumen, hills, off road, bush tracks, rocks, gravel and sand. Awesome, quick steering responses and a well set up throttle. The three power levels, 10km, 15km and 25km as per the factory set up, are brilliant.

The economy 10km speed is perfect for slow travel while doing an area recon like a scenic bush track or navigating obstacles and pedestrians.

The mid range 15km speed is a nice increase and easy to control.

The 25km top speed limited when engaged, really hits the metal. It takes off quick and surprisingly keeps that speed even up some inclined streets. Ebikes can't do that.

Although I considered changing the factory set speed limit, I genuinely feel the vehicle doesn't need it for what I want to do with it.

The other really impressive thing I discovered is the night use. The headlight is very bright and definitely useful in travelling on dark nights and with the red tail light, good to be seen.

With the price of diesel now double three weeks ago, the Kaiju is now my commuter to one of my part time jobs. The diesel Ute will be used only on specific occasions.

Being a scooter, it should keep me dryer in the wet than my bikes. Travel times and speeds obtainable in our hilly environment mean the scooter will be much better travelling than the ebikes. My bikes will not sustain 25kmph up our hills.

I travel all over Tasmania camping, kayaking, bike riding, white water rafting. The Kaiju is a smaller easier to load unit to the bikes. It will be a valuable asset on these trips. Having a spare battery really opens up opportunities to do some serious exploration in some spectacular places.

Still a lot of testing to go. But for under $2000 for the scooter and $600 an extra battery, the opportunity to access spare parts in Australia, this thing is a winner.

There are a lot of high tech bells and whistle scooters out there. But I researched this gear and its exceeded expectations.

I definitely recommend the Kaiju.

Its a powerful and highly versatile transport vehicle.

While other scooters out there may claim higher speeds, lots of tech, further distances. The Kaiju definitely presents as a perfectly design to suit Australian (Tasmanian) conditions. With two wheel drive, it will get some time in some snow at some stage.

Being a small Aussie business was the first thing that appealed. The price was so much better than major brands. Free shipping. After sales service is equalled by none! Then it arrived. I was very impressed with the quality and sturdiness, the suspension helps so much with my old bones and the brakes are smooth. Every single part on it is replaceable and you can buy it directly from them. They were patient with all my questions and very prompt at answering emails. I’ve been “scooting” for several months now and I don’t know how I managed without this awesome machine. If I could give it more stars I would!
