Such a great way to commute to work and back home. Falling more in love with each ride. So fun!
Such a relief knowing TCC is available at anytime to chat possible future concerns and fixes.
The scooter looks great and feels very sturdy. Its capability of light gravel and grass tracks around my farm have suprised me. But the biggest plus is the service!! Very responsive to messages! Changing the game! Well done TSC.
Kunanyi / Mount Wellington is a towering 1,271-meter peak forming the backdrop of Hobart, Tasmania
And so this was the BullAnts KAIJU Tassie Mountain Challenge.
The attempt to ride to the top of the mountain will be considered in future
The plan for this trip was to travel from my home in Blackmans Bay (100m above sea level), South of Hobart and travel up the shortest route to the small rural / residential locality of Fern Tree (425m above sea level). I considered that because of the steep road with some basic gravel road base, it might get there. I carried a 2nd battery as insurance. The Fern Tree Tavern has a warm fire and great food and beer
Challenge accepted, on we went......
Not only did it make it to the destination at Fern Tree, I tested it further to the next stop on the mountain up further to a location called the springs.
The details to follow are worth a look on Google Earth.
This trip definitely showed the capability of the Kaiju.
58kms
3hrs travel up and down with additional time for 30min lunch break at The Springs
Total trip -
Blackmans Bay to the Springs 14.4km
Fern Tree to The Springs 6.4km
Springs back to Fern Tree 6.4km
Fern Tree to 2nd battery swap 2.9km at Menuggana Road (Distance 1st Battery 31km)
Menuggana intersection to Longley 8.8km
Longley to Margate 10.1km
Margate to Home at Blackmans Bay 8.6km
58km est total. 30% power left on second battery. Mostly down hill easy going to Margate.
More stats'
1st battery 31kms mostly uphill
2nd battery 27kms mostly down hill
Height start (Home Blackmans Bay) 100m above sea level
The Springs - Mt Wellington (Kunanyi) 720m above sea level
Total rise 620m at start to highest point.
Trip elevation included maximum height 720m (old Springs Hotel site) above sea level down to 3m ASL (Margate).
Stopped at the Lost Freight Cafe at the Springs for the special Hot Chocolate and a pie 🥧 from Nigel and his crew. Lost Freight Cafe https://share.google/NZv0PjjkRDgybW6lE
Battery swap - From the Fern Tree Tavern (Huon Rd), the distance to the Menuggana Road turn-off is approximately 2.9 km. This intersection was the battery swap point.
Challenge notes: this is definitely a serious challenge for any Escooter. The KAIJU handled this extreme journey much better than expected and definitely exceeded way above my expectations.
An outstanding result. The power to get up this mountain was seriously put to the highest test.
The use of 25kmph top speed was used 50% average on the way up and 100% the way down with the second battery.
Steep sections used 15kmph 2nd speed rear wheel to conserve power. Especially needed on the gravel road section.
The result was a great adventure testing the technology by putting it to the ultimate limits up one of the countries most spectacular mountains.
Its bloody cold at this time of year. But snow trousers and a good jacket and gloves proved their value.
After this expedition the KAIJU definately transcends to a Mountain God
Next Challenge will be to get to the summit at 1,271 metres (4,170 feet) above sea level. That will be a massive ask but definitely worth having a go.
Also a snow run up on the Mountain will be scheduled. Will have to sort out some tyre studs for better grip on the ice.
Anyone taken a Kaiju into a snowscape?
Will try to get some video as well.
What a bloody awesome beast!!!!
Honestly, make this scooter your next scooter purchase! You’re mad if you go elsewhere. My street has a steep hill and it powered up that hill! This scooter goes hard. The speed, the durability, you can’t go wrong.
It’s great for prospecting and running the dog! Absolutely cheering!
The Kaiju is a solid well built scooter although a little agricultural looking.
It has tremendous power and very comfortable to ride with good range.
I would recommend this product.
Love your quality and service keep it up 👌🏼
Enjoy riding, strong/quality! Tackles the hills with ease :)
Loving my scooter so far. Takes a bit of getting used to and finding my balance since I haven't been on one for over 60 years. Great for around the paddock at home and I am looking forward to using it in hunting scenarios. Heaps of power and 25km an hour is plenty fast enough for me. Can't fault it after a week of constant use. Great investment for me and ticks all the boxes.
If you're chasing an electric scooter that actually lives up to the hype, the Kaiju Scooter deserves a serious look. After spending time with it, it's easy to see why people are talking about it. This isn't one of those cheap scooters that feels like it'll fall apart after a few rides. From the moment you jump on, it feels solid, well-built, and ready to handle whatever you throw at it.
My wife and I have ridden our AUROUR scooters around the canning and swan rivers in Perth for the last two months, we are 100 per cent happy with our purchase distance and build quality exceptional .
Hi George, we're thrilled to hear you and your wife are enjoying your Aurora scooters! Thanks for sharing your experience and for choosing The Simple Commute. Happy riding!
Losing my licence for three months was a pretty frustrating experience. As someone who spends most of his working week driving around Melbourne meeting clients, I was genuinely concerned about how much it would impact both my business and my day-to-day life.
After a bit of research, I ended up at The Simple Commute, and I couldn’t be happier with the decision. The team were fantastic to deal with from the very beginning. No pressure, no nonsense, just good advice and a genuine willingness to help me find the right solution.
I ended up purchasing a Kaiju scooter and, to be honest, it has completely exceeded my expectations. What was supposed to be a temporary replacement for my car has become something I genuinely enjoy using. It’s powerful, comfortable, handles rough paths and trails with ease, and has proven to be incredibly practical for getting around Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.
Over the past few days I’ve already covered a huge amount of ground on it, and it’s given me the confidence that the next three months are going to be far easier than I originally thought.
A big thank you to the team at The Simple Commute for their help, advice and service. I can highly recommend both the Kaiju and the awesome people at The Simple Commute.
Hi David, thanks so much for sharing this, it genuinely means a lot. Losing your licence is never ideal, especially when driving is such a big part of your week, so we’re really glad the Kaiju has made life easier and even turned into something you’re enjoying.
Appreciate you trusting The Simple Commute, and we’re always here if you need anything along the way. Enjoy the ride mate!
Received my scooter in good time, especially for WA. The scooter had a small issue which the team were very quick and helpful to get a solution sorted. Very happy.
Hi Adam, thank you for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear you're happy with your scooter and our service. Enjoy your rides!
WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW
This is my first electric scooter & I did my research before purchasing.
The communication via email was amazing as to how quickly The Simple Commute responded, answered all my queries and recommended the Astro to suit my needs.
I then organised to pick up.
These guys customer service is next level and would highly recommend.
Been riding the Astro everyday and love it
Can see myself upgrading in the future and won’t be going anywhere else
Keep up the good work guys!!
Hi Chris, thank you so much for your fantastic review! We're glad to hear you're loving your Astro and appreciate your kind words about our service. We look forward to helping you with any upgrades in the future. Happy riding!
This is my first scooting purchase at 60+ , found the crew very informative, scooter received within a week to Tas, looks like quality, charged up and had a couple of rides, really pleased so far
Thanks so much Richard! We’re really glad your first scooter experience has been a good one. Welcome to the scooter life mate, and ride safe!
I am very impressed with it. I live in the country and The Kaiju handles our rough tracks with ease and is built nice and strong for the task. Even the strength and thickness of the tyres surprised me. Family love it also! Well done guys!!
Thanks so much! It’s great to hear the Kaiju is making light work of those rough country tracks. The Kaiju is built tough for exactly this kind of riding, so we’re glad the strong frame and chunky tyres have impressed you. Even better that the whole family loves it too, happy riding!
Well uve done it guys! I was wary and did my homework, was never a scooter fan before but now...Whoohoo, im sold this thing is a total rippa, full control, comfort and go next to anywhere grunt and performance, very impressed so far and I haven't had it fully unlocked yet lol 😅🤣
Haha, love this! Thanks for giving us a go and doing your homework first. Great to hear the scooter has completely won you over with its comfort, control and serious grunt. And you haven’t even fully unlocked it yet… the fun’s only just beginning 😅 Enjoy the ride legend!
I’ve bought this scooter from them and their after-service is why I would choose to buy from them again.
Hi Mandy, we're so glad to hear you're happy with your scooter and our service! Thank you for your kind words and for choosing The Simple Commute. We look forward to serving you again!
I needed a scooter to commute to work, and I hate buying cheap, unsafe crap. I spent hours upon hours researching e-scooters which must have caused the ads for TSC to come up on my feed.
I spent a few more days reading reviews, comparing models and specs before deciding that the Aurora was best for my work commute needs. I was impressed with the availability of spare parts, the strong focus on delivering quality, and the lack of bullshit. That many 5 star reviews can’t be wrong.
Blowing over a thousand bucks on a purchase is always nerve wracking, so I tested their WhatsApp response to see ask how long it would take to arrive. I got a response within minutes, which calmed my nerves significantly. Better yet, my order was delivered within 3 working days. Amazing. A week after I received my Aurora, they were still responding to my queries within minutes.
I did a test drive, worked out the speed settings, tightened things up, customised my settings, and started using it for work. I’m 105KG and 5’11”. The handlebar height was perfect for me and there were no issues with the power or suspension. The ride is smooth, comfortable and my thumb is thankful for the cruise control. Travelled 6km to work and back, and the battery bar was still full.
The Aurora is just a well thought out, well built, no nonsense and, best of all, street legal e-scooter. It even looks classy enough that cyclists don’t give me sour looks. I am confident that TSC is a company that is going to go the distance and I can’t wait to pass down my Aurora to my kids one day so that I can continue supporting this Aussie business.
Hi Nagaraj, thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience! We're thrilled to hear that the Aurora has met all your commute needs and that our team’s support made a difference. We truly appreciate your support and look forward to being part of your journeys for years to come. Enjoy your rides!
This is my favorite scooter. It hasn't been perfect, I've had a couple of break downs, but even still, the customer support here has been excellent. Enough to get me back on the road when I had mechanical issues. Regrettable, mine was stolen tonight on the Gold Coast, so if someone is trying to sell a Kaiju in my city. Check to see if it isn't stolen first. I'm hopeful to buy another one but will increase my security measures on it.
We're genuinely sorry to hear that. Absolutely sucks, especially when it’s a scooter you actually love riding.
Really appreciate the kind words about our support too. We know things aren’t always perfect, but we’ll always do our best to get our riders back on the road when something goes wrong.
And if you do end up needing a replacement, reach out to us. We’ll help you out with the best option we can, plus some stronger security gear this time so the next thief has a much worse night.
Shes mean, brake disk is loose and suspension needs to be played with an adjustable height for the bars would be nice aswell for the price other than that absolutely does the job
Thanks heaps for the honest feedback! Glad to hear she’s doing the job properly 🙌
For the brake disc, it may just need a slight caliper adjustment, which normally solves the issue pretty quickly if it’s rubbing or feeling loose. The suspension can also be adjusted, so definitely get in touch with us and we’ll help you sort it out.
The reason a lot of higher-end performance scooters don’t use adjustable handlebars is strength and stability. Adjustable stems usually add extra moving parts, clamps, and joints, which can create more flex, rattling, or wear over time, especially on heavier off-road scooters.
For something like the Kaiju, we chose a stronger fixed-height setup because it’s built for rougher tracks, higher loads, and long-term durability. Less adjustment means fewer weak points, which matters a lot once you’re riding on gravel, dirt, bumps, or farm tracks.
That said, we definitely understand adjustable height would be handy for different riders, so it’s feedback we’ll keep in mind for future models.
The absolute best
Legend! Appreciate that heaps!
Got my Kaiju with in 5 days of ordering it was so impressed with it and customer service is A1
Love hearing this! Glad the Kaiju landed quickly and you’re impressed with it 🙌 Appreciate the support heaps, we’ll always do our best to keep the service A1。
